Surprise!
My sister came by last night to visit with the children for a little bit. She came bearing gifts. She got Caleb a really cool flashlight and she gave Callie Grace some pom poms. Caleb has loved playing with his flashlight and CG has been doing cheers non-stop. Aunt de even taught her some cheers that she remembered from her cheerleading days!

Spirit Night
Callie Grace and Caleb's school had spirit night at Chick-fil-A last night. They had a ball. I was not able to get a picture of Caleb because he moves at lightening speed and wanted nothing to do with me and my camera. He told me he had friends to play with!
She makes these poses on her own. |
Having Fun! I was able to snap one or two before bedtime! This is the "hurry up mom" face! CGB right before bed |

Storytime at the library
We were a little late but really enjoyed storytime at the library last night. The theme of the books and craft was monsters. Callie Grace and Caleb had fun making the craft. We enjoyed seeing friends Ainsley and Addison as well.

Morning Ya'll!
We had a very laid back weekend which was so nice! My babies slept until almost 8am on Saturday! Then, they decided to snuggle together in the chair. I thought they looked cute...
Callie Grace and I went to see baby Aiden again while Kip and Caleb played together at home.

You Better Not Be Spiderman!
Isn't it funny how stories are passed down in families and even if you weren't born yet, you think you remember them firsthand?! Apparently, my brother dressed up as spiderman (maybe for Halloween) when he was a little boy. When my cousin, Caryl saw him she said in a loud voice over and over "you better not be spiderman"! Apparently this was extremely funny - at least in our family it was. So through the years, I can remember my mama repeating what my cousin said and us both laughing hysterically.
Well, Caleb received Spiderman pajamas for his 3rd birthday (thank you Sommer and Rileigh!) back in September and wore them for the first time last night. I, of course had to repeat my cousin's saying which totally cracked up my children.
And now, I present to you Caleb (you better not be Spiderman) Burgess...

Look at the cool web under his arms! We also went to the library yesterday and I thought this was a cute picture. |

Choices
"There is a choice you have to make, In everything you do. And you must always keep in mind the choice you make, makes you."
As a parent, we are held to the daunting task of teaching our children that with each choice comes a consequence. Boy, is this hard. I imagine it will be even more difficult as they grow older. I know that with many of the choices I make, my children see the consequences firsthand. My prayer is for God to guide me when making choices. I know that He has us in His hands but sometimes life can be hard. I pray each night that God will guide my children and place Godly friends in their path. I know that it is far off, but I also pray he will place a Godly mate in their lives. I love these two so much. I hope they always know how great my love is for them.

My sister
My sister has been on my mind a lot lately. Her name is Heather deLynne but she has always been deLynne or sissy to me. To most everyone else she is Heather. My babies call her Aunt de and my brother's daughter calls her Aunt Heather. Her grandchildren call her mimi.
She is more than a sister to me. She is my confidant. I tell her everything. I know that what I tell her will never leave us. She is my biggest cheerleader. Growing up, I often wanted to have a sister or brother closer to my age. When our mama passed away 13 years ago, I clearly understood why He gave me an older sister. In many ways, she is a mama to me. She is helping my children understand more about our mama and daddy. She and my brother are the only family ties that I have to my side of the family.
I love you more than words sissy.
Love,
Kacki

Differences
Callie Grace got her very own offering envelopes at church on Sunday. So, last night she was wanting to do every chore that she could think of to earn money for her envelope. It was very sweet. I asked Caleb if he wanted to make some money for Jesus. He said no. He wanted to make some money for his piggy bank. I tried to explain that all of our money belongs to Jesus. I think we have our work cut out with Mister Caleb ! :)
Callie Grace loves this flower hair bow. It isn't my favorite but she LOVES it! After bath with a wet head! |

Lots of things
We have enjoyed a baby being born, a birthday party, snow and picture session in the last few days. Callie Grace and Caleb spent the night with their Mimi and Papa. They enjoyed their time with their grandparents. I was able to get Callie Grace's chest of drawers and closet completely cleaned out. Next up is Caleb's closet and the laundry room. It never ends but I really enjoy the feeling of accomplishment as I am able to check my to do's off the list!

Special books
Our friends Lori and Gerald gave CG and Caleb some special books for Christmas. They are books about themselves. Our children love to look at the pictures inside the books. This is what they were doing in the car on the way to dinner with Pepaw last night.

Random
Callie Grace eats very little and what she does eat is definitely not the most healthy of food choices! I was very pleased when she chose a turkey sandwich, apples and grapes for dinner last night.
She really seemed to enjoy her dinner! Caleb has decided that he no longer likes having his picture taken. I was able to take a cutie pie picture of him during bath time. Squish this face! |
