Weekend Recap

We had another busy weekend...

Friday evening, we went to our cousin, Tyler's 5th birthday party at Chucke Cheese.  This was Callie Grace and Caleb's 2nd visit to Chucke Cheese.  They love it.  All of the cousins were dancing around as the characters were singing.

These two love each other so much!

Caleb spent the night with Moira on Friday night.  Callie Grace and I took a trip to Wally World.  My, the things you can see at good old Wally World.  (I'll leave it at that!)

Saturday morning greeted us all too early.  Saturday was game day for Callie Grace and Caleb and their daddy.  I was the crazy woman trying to keep my children contained.  There were a few times that I thought I might lose it with my children's attitudes but I hung in there!

Coach Kip, Coach Pat and the 4 soccer players!

Then, we headed over to the park to wish Uncle James a happy birthday complete with Zesto's chicken!

After 2 soccer games, lunch and playtime in the HEAT, this is how we all felt...

DONE! :)

We were able to go home and get a bath and have rest time.  After that, we got to keep this little cutie...

We enjoyed church on Sunday.

And we were able to honor Crosson's life by placing flowers in our church...

All in all, we had a nice weekend!

Just A Coloring

Callie Grace has said that she wants to be an artist when she grows up forever.  Caleb has always shown little interest in coloring.  Yesterday afternoon, they put their chairs together at the table and colored.  Callie Grace told Caleb what a great job he was doing and helped him in identifying his colors.  They definitely have a love/hate relationship these days (mostly on Callie Grace's end) but it was so nice to see them having fun and learning together!

Callie Grace made a bunny book at school yesterday.  She wanted me to take her picture with each page of her book.

Heart Dump

Feeling a little overwhelmed today.  We have lots of things on the calendar for the weekend.  Crosson's birthday is coming up - April 12th.  He would be 8.  The flowers at church are going to be in his memory on Sunday.  We normally take a balloon out to the cemetery on his birthday.  Callie Grace and Caleb enjoy doing this so much.  After all this time, his birthday continues to be the hardest for me.  My great aunt who is in her 80's lost a son in the same way that we lost Crosson.  When we had Callie Grace, my Aunt Claire came over to visit us.  As she recounted her story to me, she remembered everything - the way in which she shared her loss would make you think it happened yesterday instead of 60some years ago.  That one conversation taught me so many things.  Most importantly, it taught me that with time we move forward but we never forget the footprints that they have made on our hearts.  Their little lives will always matter, if only to us, they still matter.

One child cannot take the place of another but I am thankful beyond words that God blessed us with these two...

They give meaning to each of my days.  I love you two so very much.

Soccer practice and Easter decorations

We had our 2nd soccer practice last night.  The children really seem to be enjoying their time on the field.  If nothing else, they are getting to be active which is great.  They both memorized their Psalms 31:3b memory verse for the week.  Go Callie Grace and Caleb!!  I didn't take many pictures last night.  It was a little tough with my ever active 3 year old.  He and Ashlyn did enjoy some fun time on the playground while their brother and sister had their practice.  I think a special friendship is forming with those two.

Can you tell that it was a little sunny?

Callie Grace has been quite upset with me that our only Easter decoration is the wreath on our front door.  So, she took matters into her own hands and decorated some paper eggs for me.  I decided to hang them on our light fixture in our little eating area.

The finished product!

Playtime

Yesterday afternoon was super warm and a little windy.  We decided to hit up the playground.  Callie Grace and Caleb had a lot of fun.  They ran, played on the swing, rock wall and slide.  We love these carefree afternoons.

As a side note, Caleb has always been a little love bug but he has recently become my shadow.  He always says that he wants me.  He showers me with kisses and hugs.  I don't know how long this is going to last but I love it!!

Miss Callie Grace has become a complete sass.  I am not loving this at all.  I hope we can work our way right through this stage sooner than later.

Look at those pink cheeks!

Update

We enjoyed having Joshua spend Friday night with us.  I didn't get a single picture but I can tell you that the children had a great time.  I believe every toy that we have ever owned was spread out throughout the house.  Joshua lost his 3rd tooth while spending the night.  The tooth fairy knew the way to our house.  Callie Grace and Caleb were in complete awe!

On Saturday, we went to CG and Caleb's twin cousins skating party.  My duo have never skated but we gave it a try.  They both loved it!  Kip had a prior commitment that day.  Many thanks to mimi for helping me watch my babies at the party.

Happy Birthday Aly!

Happy Birthday Rion!

Once Kip got home on Saturday afternoon, we went to the park.  It was a beautiful day!

Callie Grace brought her monkey along!

Caleb on another motorcycle - am I in trouble or what?!

The motorcycle lost its juice so daddy got a workout!

After church on Sunday, we had lunch at Miss Cindy's house.  We brought a birthday cake that my friend from work, Shannon made.  It tasted as good as it looks!

A few outside pictures while we were waiting to eat.  Kip practiced soccer with the kiddos.

Mrs. Cheyenne

Today is Callie Grace's assistant teacher, Mrs. Cheyenne's birthday.  We had a little party for her today.  The children had a lot of fun and I think Mrs. Cheyenne did also!
