Moira
We had Moira over to spend the night on Friday. Callie Grace and Caleb absolutely love her. I barely even knew they were in the house. Moira plays school with them. Since she is the oldest, she is the teacher. She makes them walk a straight line. I cannot believe that Caleb listens to her but he does! I only got 2 pictures of them while they were watching a movie. Other than that, they were in each other's rooms with the door closed. They both cried when she had to go home. I am so glad that they are close with all of their cousins!

Giving Thanks
We really had a wonderful thanksgiving. We had lunch with Kip's family and dinner with my sister and brother. It was nice to be able to see everyone and enjoy delicious food. Our children had a ball with their extended family.

Callie Grace's Thanksgiving Party
Callie Grace's teacher said that her class normally does a Thanksgiving feast so that is exactly what we did! We served ham delights, macaroni and cheese, string beans, corn on the cob and sweet potatoes. We had turkey cookies for dessert. The children really seemed to enjoy themselves. I loved hearing everything that they are thankful for during this season. Each child is just so precious!

Caleb's Thanksgiving Party
Caleb had a great time at his Thanksgiving party. As he was eating his turkey cookie, he kept saying, "thanks mom, this is good"! I am so thankful that I was able to be there for his party.

Weekend
We had a busy weekend! Callie Grace spent the night with Moira Friday night. Callie Grace has only spent the night away from us with her Mimi or my sister. So, I wasn't sure how she would do at my brother's house. She did great. She had the best time ever. Caleb was sad but Kip took him out for a daddy/son dinner.
On Sunday, we went to church. We had a fun time making and decorating turkey cookies after lunch. I will post some pictures of the cookies tomorrow!

Normal Day
"Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are. Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart. Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow. Let me hold you while I may, for it may not always be so."
-Mary Jean Iron
These words are what I want to focus on and relish in. It is difficult for my mind to comprehend how quickly my babies are growing. Callie Grace will be in kindergarten next year. How can that be? It seems like yesterday that we were praying fervently that God would bless us with a baby. Our hearts desperately needed to begin to heal after the devastating loss of Crosson. And who knew that we would be blessed with another pregnancy when Callie Grace was just 6 months old? Caleb has enriched our lives so much. I don't know if Callie Grace and Caleb will ever be able to grasp how great my love is for them.

Fun time with Daddy
The babies and I went to the library yesterday afternoon and to Chick-fil-A for dinner. Kip had another commitment so I was trying to use up some time. Once Kip got home, the kids were all about playing with him. It was nice to have a few minutes to myself!! :)

Just for laughs
We had several errands to run yesterday afternoon. The first place we went to was so crowded and there were only 2 people working. The wait was long! Surprisingly, Callie Grace and Caleb were very good. Once we finally got home, it was time for dinner. Then, a little play time, bath time and bed. It seems like I am so thankful for bedtime these days. I did take a few funny pics of the babies playing before bath time. They love to do things to make us laugh.

My mama's chair
The swivel chair that now lives in our bedroom has been part of my life forever. It belonged to my mother. It has been many different colors through the years but the significance of the chair has never changed. My mama would hold me in that chair. She held me when I was happy or sad, glad or mad. Kip had the chair recovered for me on my 30th birthday. My children know that this chair belonged to Grandma Hammerment. They know that she lives in heaven with Crosson.
The memories and love that this chair represents are invaluable to me. But I think my mama would agree that the little people that now sit here are the best gifts of all.

School
I snapped a few pictures of the babies when I picked them up from school today. They both got great behavior reports. One child always gets a good report, the other child does sometimes. I will let you guess which is which!! :) Next week is Thanksgiving parties. Is it seriously time for Thanksgiving? Where has the time gone??

Lots of errands
We stayed in the car most of yesterday afternoon running errands. We did get to go to the library where we saw Callie Grace's favorite friend Henry! Life is super crazy right now. It seems like there are not enough hours in the day. Patience is a little hard to come by also - just being honest! I am ready for a little relaxation. As luck would have it, I am off of work Thursday and Friday. Thank you Lord! Hopefully this down time will help rejuvenate me.

Silly children
We went to visit my Aunt Claire yesterday. I was so worried that the babies would mess something up in her house that I didn't get a picture. I love my Aunt Claire so much. I really wish that I had gotten a photo of her with the children. She is close to 90 years old. We made more pumpkin muffins for her and Callie Grace colored her a beautiful picture! Caleb gave her a very pretty leaf.
So, these are my children making silly faces after bath time...

Just plain silly!
And this is Callie Grace performing for us the other night...
I LOVE that she looks like a baby here. |
