Wow, I thought I was never going to get back on here...

It has been forever and I don't like it one bit!  I am going to jump right in so here goes...

We are at the day after Christmas 2014 and I can't believe how quickly this year has gone by.

We have had a busy month with Callie Grace and Caleb.  From church Christmas performances to school parties to field trips to volunteering at the school and extra curricular activities, we have been swamped.  Oh yeah, I work 40 hours a week also.  I love these children so much and want to savor every possible moment that I can.  I try to stay very active at their school by taking my lunch break to do stuff or using my vacation days to work at the school.  Their school is 6 minutes from my work so I feel extremely fortunate for that!

Here is wishing you a very Happy New Year!

September 13th

Brandon Caleb Burgess turned 7 today.  We had his party at the Marionette Theatre and he had a ball.  Caleb is very much into WWE and wrestling.  He received a lot of wrestling stuff as well as his Mimi made a wrestling ring birthday cake for him.

Jesus, thank you so much for giving me this full of energy, crazy, mama loving boy!

Give God the Glory

Callie Grace participated in the 2nd grade Spelling Bee and the Math Mad Minute today. She had 1 minute to answer as many math problems as she could. Callie Grace came in 2nd place. We were so happy for her! Then came the Spelling Bee. Callie Grace won! Her little face was so red and so excited.

Callie Grace and I talked about how God blessed her with a sharp, bright mind. We give God all the glory.

Caleb was so proud of her and told all of his friends. I am so thankful Caleb loves his sister so much and shares in the happy times and the sad. They are each others memory keepers.

Caleb got on purple everyday this week. Way to go, my precious boy.

We love you so much. One more week as a kindergartener and a second grader. Time surely isn't slowing down so I will hang on for the ride!

Spring T-Ball 2014

Our boy has had some wonderful coaches this season. He has learned so much about baseball, commitment and discipline.

I must admit, I am looking forward to a bit of a break, a slower pace that I pray the summer will bring.

I love that I get to do life with these babies

With every fiber of my being, I know that these days are fleeting. I can hardly comprehend that Callie Grace is 8 and Caleb is 6.  In a blink, they will be teenagers and I will take a backseat in their lives.  God entrusted me, this totally imperfect, unqualified person to be their mama.  Thank you Jesus for loaning your children to Kip and myself.  May they never doubt our love and thankfulness for them.

Easter 2014

He is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!

We had a special, family filled Easter. I feel extremely thankful as I think back on today. We enjoyed church, 2 amazing meals and an egg hunt. Callie Grace and Caleb fell in the bed tonight.

A Visit to the Dentist

Good reports all around - no cavities.  It does look like we are going to have braces in the future for one kiddo.

Thankful

What an amazing weekend! Six of us girls and our 14 children went to Edisto. Our children had a wonderful time together and got along so well. We laughed, talked cried, reminisced and planned future outings. These women get me and I get them. No pretense b/c there is no need.  These strong women inspire me. They encourage me to be the best version of myself.

Jesus has blessed me beyond measure and I couldn't be more thankful.

Sibling Day

We took balloons to our precious Crosson today. This day marks 11 years since we found out our baby wouldn't be joining our family in the traditional way. We learned that Crosson was in heaven. Two days later, we delivered a tiny baby boy with reddish hair and long fingers and toes. Such dark days that make me ache with a pain that I cannot describe.

Callie Grace had a mini service planned today. She spoke of her brother. She stated that Crosson was a nice brother who helped Jesus watch over our family. Caleb said he wished he could play with his brother. Kip said he knew Crosson was very proud of his siblings. I said I knew Crosson loved us all very much.

Callie Grace asked us to join hands while she prayed and thanked Jesus for her big brother.

I wish I could tie this post up in a beautiful bow. I can't do that but I can say that I am down on my knees tonight thanking God for blessing me with my three blessings. Are they perfect?  Far from it! Are they my greatest joys in this world? Absolutely.

Daddy/Daughter, Just Clowning Around, Dr. Seuss

Kip and Callie Grace have gotten to attend 2 dances. They had a ball together. Seeing them together brought tears to my eyes. Their bond is an amazing thing to witness.

Trophy girl

Callie Grace received her first ever trophy tonight. She just finished a season of Upward soccer with her daddy being the coach.  Caleb has never received a trophy before but he was happy for his sister!

Here are a few attempts at getting a nice picture...

Forever

It has been forever since I posted anything. I have really missed sharing my thoughts and pictures.

Christmas was so very special. We shared lots of family time. I was able to take the week of Christmas off. I am incredibly thankful that I got spend an entire week with my loves.

In 2014, we welcomed snow! Callie Grace and Caleb loved it!

I will try and catch up more later!
