Trimming the tree

We ventured out late Friday afternoon to get a Christmas tree.  This tired mama (from all night shopping!) sure wanted to wait until Saturday but 3 other people in our home wanted to go right then!  So, I threw gently placed some Christmas shirts on my duo, snapped a picture and we were out the door.

And here they are decorating...  They were singing Christmas carols and being so sweet.  It really was a fun time.  Kip went and picked up a pizza while we finished up decorating.

Giving Thanks

We really enjoyed Thanksgiving.  It was filled with family and yummy food!  Here is a sweet picture of my two turkeys that I am thankful for beyond measure...

They loved the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade.

It is so hard to get everyone to look at the camera! :) Moira - age 7, Joshua, age 6, Callie Grace - age 5, Caleb - age 4, and Benjamin - age 3.

Caleb's Thanksgiving Party

I was able to go and share in Caleb's Thanksgiving feast yesterday.  He has been sick for the past few days but was well enough to go to school.  The children sang the cutest song to the parents/grandparents, prayed and then dug in!

Go Gamecocks!

Callie Grace went to her first ever USC football on Saturday with her daddy.  She had "the best day ever" in her words.  At the game she was screaming for the gamecocks and doing a little dance.  She told me "a man she never met gave her a high five and said good job".  She was so excited when she woke up this morning.  Apparently, every Monday her teacher asks the class what was one special thing they did for the weekend.  Callie Grace couldn't wait to share that she went to the game with her daddy.  I think this is definitely an event that she will always remember.

Caleb and I went by for a few minutes!

Fun times

We had a lot of fun at Monkey Joe's.  Callie Grace really enjoyed playing with her special friend, Jackson.  It was really hot in Monkey Joe's!

Last night, we went to a celebration dinner for Callie Grace.  She got the Good Citizen award for her class for the month!  We are very proud of Callie Grace.  I always remember what my mama put in my senior annual - "Character is property, it is the noblest of possessions."  Callie Grace and Caleb may not be the smartest children in the bunch but if they have strong character, they will go far in life!

Moments with Marvin

I was so excited to find out that Marvin the Monkey was coming to my house for a visit!  Daddy, Marvin and I went to get my hair cut.  Marvin had fun in the big chair with me!

Marvin told me that I sure needed a trim! :)
We then went to the grocery store where we got to ride in the fun cart!  Marvin couldn't believe all of the food.  He wanted to pick up some bananas while we were at the store.

Here we are right before bedtime!  Good night, sweet dreams, Marvin.

Stay tuned for more marvelous adventures with Marvin!

Key Moment

Caleb and I were in the car on the way to pick up Callie Grace from church last night.  The radio wasn't on; Caleb and I were just talking to each other.  In many ways, Caleb is your typical 4 year old boy.  In other ways, he completely blows me away.  He is extremely inquistive about Jesus and his brother that lives in heaven.  We can be walking into the grocery store or Chick-fil-A or wherever and he will say, "Mom, hold on a minute."  He will look up to the sky and with the biggest smile say, "Hey, Crosson" and then go on about his way.  I love this about my child.  Back to my story... while in the car, Caleb said, "Mom, did God put our family puzzle together?"  I had to ask him to repeat his question while I thought about it.  My reply, "He sure did Caleb".

I have been thinking about this innocent question alot today.  I am so thankful that God made our puzzle pieces fit together like He did.  I also can't wait to see the complete puzzle with each piece in place when I get to heaven.

Thank you, Lord for using my baby's words to touch my heart.

Sissy and Brother

Our duo definitely has their moments of just plain not getting along.  Yet, last night they put on a production of Tangled for me.  Callie Grace was Rapunzel and Caleb was Flynn Ryder.  CG wanted Caleb to dress the part.  So, we got one of daddy's shirts and used CG's staff as a horse.  They made me laugh and I hope they made some memories of the event.  I hate that I didn't get a picture of CG taking her frying pan from her kitchen and repeatedly "tapping" Caleb over the head.  I was laughing too hard!  Each time Caleb would make this funny noise and sprawl out on the floor.

Proof that they really do love each other! :)

Caleb's school party

Caleb and all of his school friends were so cute all dressed up for their halloween party!  While his class trick-or-treated, we set up for their party.  When they got back from trick-or-treating, they sang us a precious song about pumpkins.

We enjoyed another church festival last night.  Lots of jumping, sliding, face painting and games!

the one time that he was still the entire night

this girl shocked me with the jumping and sliding on BIG slides - she is always so cautious!
WOW - what a fun season of life with these two precious people.  Now, for a small breather before Thanksgiving and Christmas come our way! :)
